Please Welcome...Peter Melvin Paul Milton

We were in court this morning, and it's official!

Judge Frank Cuthbertson found that it "would be in Peter's best interest to be adopted into our home," and so decreed.

We are blessed to have a wide variety of friends and family that encourage us and pray for us. These are the ones were able to come to the hearing to show their support.

Probably hard to see, but that's Fawn, Peter's nanny; Marsha, Sandy's sister; Michael, of the Willcocksons'; Karen, an old friend and colleague of Sandy's'; Jane, Margaret Anne, and Will, of the Lewellens; Katy, Catherine, Paige, Steve and Janet, Joanne, Mary and Ted, and, of course, Peter and us.

We gave testimony that we knew we were accepting a lifelong responsibility.

We listened as Judge Cuthbertson congratulated us. Then we talked--he wanted to know some of our story about getting him. It was all quite moving, touching, and even fun.

I probably had the most fun, though...he left me pound the gavel.
